What is Nerve Block Treatment? |

For patients who suffer from migraine headaches due to nerve compression or nerve injury we use Nerve Block treatment to “put the nerve to sleep” with a local anesthetic. Nerve Block treatment is similar to the way Novacaine is used by your dentist. Much like Botox, Nerve Block Treatment is a diagnostic test to determine if a patient’s migraines are caused by a compressed or injured nerve. Nerve Block treatment is not meant as a continual treatment for migraines. Nerve Block treatment typically provides relief for 4-6 hours, but some patients have experienced prolonged headache relief for 3-14 days.
